Subject: Re: TCC Visconol Condensers Date: 07/22/2000 Author: Bob Weiss No idea if they are any good for audio use, but you should be aware that "visconol" is one of the tradenames for a polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) compound used as an impregnant in electrical components. PCBs are nasty toxic compounds, that persist in the environment when released. They tend to bioaccumulate in fish and birds, and have been linked to cancer and birth defects in humans. They pose no hazard as long as the capacitors are not leaking, but use extreme care with them, and dispose of unwanted caps in an appropriate manner, as a hazardous waste. Bob Weiss N2IXK
